Pandorant

I don’t know what it is about Pandora. Maybe I’m too much of a snob. It doesn’t matter how many songs or artists I add to my station. I don’t like the majority of new music introduced. So, I give the song a thumbs down. No harm done. It skips the song. We’re done. Except we’re not. Because I don’t get enough skips to accommodate all the songs Pandora plays that I can’t stand to sit through. Then, even after I’ve given a song a thumbs down, it will play the song again. Or a song by the same artist. Just like any other radio station, I’ve found Pandora will recycle the same music over and over and over until I hate everything. Granted, I have found some pretty cool music through Pandora. I think. I can’t think of any specific examples right now, but I’m certain it’s happened. Whatever. It doesn’t matter.

Because last.fm exists. I’m pretty sure most people on Tumblr know this. The demographics are pretty similar. I already wrote my praise for last.fm here and I’m not going to repeat myself. However, if you use last.fm and Google Chrome, I would like to bring the last.fm free music player extension to your attention. Basically, it turns Chrome into a music player. You can search for songs on last.fm and play them in the browser and they will scrobble. If you care about that sort of thing. All I know is it’s convenient and I like that I never have to use Youtube for music again.

Just my two cents.

Edit: I noticed I said most of this in the post on last.fm I linked to. MY BAD I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON. SORRY GUYS.
